The Emergence of the Faculty

The Department of Law at the University of Tlemcen has opened its doors for legal studies during the academic year 1978/1979. In 1989, this department became a section of the National Institute of Higher Education for Economic Sciences at the same university.

 By virtue of Executive Decree No. 98-391 of 02 December 1998, the Faculty of Law of the University of Tlemcen was established.

   Moreover, after the approval and by a Ministerial Decree No. 207 of 14/09/2008 to open another department devoted to political sciences, the name of the faculty was changed and became by virtue of Executive Decree No. 10-13 of 12 January 2010, the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences.
